Step into spring with a clean and fresh living space. Try these simple tips in order to accomplish the clean, but with methods that are more "green"! For the deepest clean, dry surfaces after cleaner application, and follow up with a disinfectant spray.*

Grapefruit Mirror Cleaner

Cleaning Ratio: 1 to 1 ratio of white vinegar to water. Add 20 drops of grapefruit essential oil or any favorite citrus oil from NOW solutions to add a fragrant flair!

This mirror cleaner is delightfully clean and refreshing. To use, spray your mirror and wipe with a microfiber cloth... Or, an old cut up cotton T-shirt for even more green magic!

All Purpose Spray

White Wooden Cupboards

Cleaning Ratio: 1/4 cup of your fave Dr. Bronners Castille Liquid Soap to a quart of water, plus an optional 20 drops of citrus or tea tree essential oil.

In this recipe, you can customize the scent of your living space! What could be better? According to Lisa Bronner on the Dr. Bronner website, this is an all-purpose spray that is chemical-free and smells amazing! We can't say no to that.

DIY Disinfectant

Black and White Spray Bottle

Cleaning Ratio: Simply add Essential Oxygen 3% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide to your spray bottle.

Due to its bleaching properties, this disinfectant is best when used on hard surfaces like tile, tub, toilet and door handles. Specifically, for those handles, you'll want to spray a generous amount onto your cleaning cloth for wiping them down. In essence, make sure that you don't use this on fabrics, wood, or any materials prone to color bleaching!

Other considerations include the expiration date, and allowing the disinfectant sit for 3 minutes before drying. If you've had your bottle for a while, you'll need to check if it's expired before using this as a proper disinfectant. Meanwhile, the 3-minute rule ensures that the solution has time to properly do its job. Don your gloves, use in a well-ventilated area, and go to town!
