Check out these cool 5-step ramen hacks, using Mike's Mighty Good Craft Ramen! If you've ever been a starving college student, starving artist, or any kind of hungry person, chances are you've reached for ramen. Luckily, we've come a long way since the days of cup-o-noodles. FY has begun to carry Mike's Mighty Good Craft Ramen in our stores, and upon trying it, we can say it's some of the best packaged ramen around. Their noodles have the spongy consistency much closer to that of freshly-made noodles. Their broth is rich and flavorful. Plus, it's made with ingredients you don't have to be ashamed of, with options for gluten-free folks and vegetarians too.Â
We love a soft boiled egg, sliced in half. The runny yolk adds to the richness of the broth. (Add an egg to boiling water, and boil for 7 minutes before peeling and slicing!) Or, cook and slice up the type of meat pictured on the package... or whatever meat flavor you think would tie in well (we included some options below). For a vegan option, cube up your favorite kind of tofu instead! It's sure to add a little somethin' somethin'. Prep and set aside.
Simply follow the directions on the package for the perfect cup of noodles! Except, after pouring the hot water, immediately see next step...
4. Add Green
Mainly by "green", we mean vegetables! Just be sure to slice them up for bite-sized convenience. Then, add some veggie slices to the hot water in your cup before covering and setting aside. Again, see options below...
- Cabbage
- Bok-choi
- Shitake mushrooms
- Frozen peas
5. Top It Off
Time for the finishing touches! You'll do this just before serving and eating your ramen. These can include...
- Sliced spring onions
- Cilantro
- Sesame seeds (We recommend lightly pan toasting the seeds!)
