Homemade Peanut Butter Treats
Ingredients:
2 cups flour (preferably Bob's Red Mill Whole Wheat Flour or Bob's Red Mill Oat Flour)
1/2 cup peanut butter (we use Once Again Organic Creamy Peanut Butter - make sure you are using a peanut butter without added sugar or sugar alcohols to avoid digestive upset)
2/3 cup pumpkin puree (we like Farmer's Market Organic Pumpkin Puree)
2 eggs
Bonus ingredient: 2 tbsp Now Foods Liver Powder
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.Â
- In a large bowl, add the pumpkin puree, peanut butter, eggs, and liver powder. Mix thoroughly until combined, about 1-2 minutes.
- Slowly add in the flour, mixing continuously as you introduce the dry ingredient. Add flour until the dough is no longer sticky.Â
- Once the ingredients are blended smoothly, you can either knead the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll to a 1/4 inch thickness and cut to your desired shapes. Or, you can grab a tbsp or two of the dough, roughly shape it into a ball, and add it to the parchment lined baking sheet. Press down firmly on the treat dough to help it achieve a flatter shape.
- Put into the oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. (Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the treat size.)
- Cool completely.
