A note from Sara:
I love how the holidays can fill the air with gorgeous scents of cinnamon and spice and everything nice! Some of my most cherished memories are around the Winter Holidays. But what I don’t love so much is the load of sickness associated with this time of year.
One of the best forms of preventative maintenance to stay your healthiest is to wash your hands! Did you know the act of handwashing is the most effective way to keep your hands germ free, not so much by soap but by the heat of the water and friction? And even though soap was originally designed to help clean greasy pots and pans, we use it conventionally at every hand-washing opportunity.
While one may think that soap is used to aid us, many conventional options come with harmful chemicals and added fragrance, thus causing dry hands that crack and allow germs to enter more easily. "Fragrance" is an ingredient often listed in many products and is considered proprietary to companies to keep recipes top secret. What many people may not know is that fragrance can cover hundreds of ingredients that don’t have to be disclosed on the packaging. Shocking, I know!
Avoiding synthetic fragrance in any household product altogether can be rather tricky but I’ve got one of your issues solved with my easy DIY Foam Soap Recipe. Bonus: it’s environmentally friendly and affordable too! I’ve been making this for 5 years now and I have never felt better knowing that I can control this one small item in my home that can truly impact my health. Plus, you’ll love the natural essential oil scent which actually has been suggested to boost the immune system.
